Consumer research firms, such as NPD Group, offer analytics on everything from apparel to watches, including food. According to NPD, Americans today purchase more almond milk, Greek yogurt, quinoa and sea salt than in 2011. And consumers’ fancy for fresh foods like fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, and poultry grew over twenty percent between 2003 and 2013.
