Notes from Paso Robles: Super-Chill Whites

Check out some of Paso’s super-chill whites and dessert wines – the flip-side to their Rhone-style reds:

Venteux Vineyards‘ Fleur Blanc –   a  flirtatious Rhone blend of 50% Viognier, 30% Roussane, and 20% Marsanne. Grown in one of Paso’s only dry-farmed, head-trained wineries  – Venteux Vineyards grapes have suffered mightily to create one gorgeous pour.

Halter Ranch 2010 Viognier – perfect for picnic quaffing.

For  a little ‘Old World’ homage to Jura, try  Halter Ranch Vin de Paille (Straw Wine) –  serious orange blossom nectar nirvana.
